How the trainer works

Browse mode walks you through all 33 letters one at a time. For each letter you see its name, the sound it makes, its transliteration and an example word - and you can hear that word spoken aloud. Move with the arrow keys or the buttons.

Quiz mode flips it around: you see a letter and pick its sound from four choices. You get instant feedback and a running accuracy score, so you can see your recognition speed improve. Recognition under a little pressure is what makes the alphabet stick.

Everything runs on the static letter data and your browser's speech engine - there is nothing to install and no account to create. When you want the letters to turn into real vocabulary, that is where Daily Cyrillic's spaced-repetition deck takes over.
