Hotel conversations are easier when you separate the reservation, the room and the practical details of your stay. First give the name on the booking. Then confirm what is included and ask the questions you will need later, such as when breakfast starts or where to leave your bags. This lesson follows that sequence and gives you language for a small room problem without turning a simple request into a complaint.

Find the reservation before discussing the room

У меня́ бро́нь на и́мя… introduces a booking under a particular name. Say the surname slowly and offer to show the confirmation if needed. The receptionist may ask На ско́лько ноче́й? rather than how many days you are staying, so practise nights as well as dates. A room is но́мер in this context, a word which can also mean a number. The surrounding sentence tells you which meaning is intended.

Ask about included services

Do not assume that breakfast, parking or late checkout is included because you saw it in a photograph. За́втрак включён? is a concise question about breakfast. Follow it with Со ско́льки за́втрак? to ask when service starts. Distinguish an included service from one you can pay for separately. When practising, change just one detail at a time: breakfast, parking, luggage storage. That keeps the sentence structure familiar while you expand the useful vocabulary.

Describe a room problem precisely

A factual statement is usually enough to start: В но́мере не рабо́тает кондиционе́р means the air conditioning does not work. Say what is wrong, then ask what can be done. Мо́жно друго́й но́мер? is a request for another room, not an accusation. If the receptionist offers a repair or room change, repeat the proposed time or room number. This lets both people check the plan before you go upstairs again.

Prepare for leaving as well as arriving

Departure questions are worth asking when reception is quiet. Во ско́лько вы́езд? asks about checkout time, while Мо́жно оста́вить бага́ж? concerns luggage storage. Do not confuse вы́езд, departure, with вы́ход, exit. Rehearse an arrival and departure as a pair: show the reservation, collect the key, ask about breakfast, then return the key and leave your bags. You will practise the full stay instead of only the first minute.

Questions about this situation

How do I say that I booked a room?
У меня́ есть бро́нь is the simplest statement. Add на и́мя and your surname when the receptionist needs to find it. You can use the confirmation on your phone to support the spoken phrase without reading the whole message aloud.
What is the difference between check-in and checkout?
Заселе́ние is checking in and вы́езд is checking out. You may see both on reception signs. Asking about a specific time is clearer than translating an English hotel term word for word when you are unsure which one the staff use.
How can I request a quieter room?
Мо́жно ти́хий но́мер? asks for a quiet room. Add окна́ во двор if you would prefer windows facing the courtyard. Availability depends on the property, so treat this as a request and listen for the alternative offered.
