In an online meeting, you need language for the connection as well as the conversation. Can everyone hear you? Is the right window visible? Did a pause mean agreement or a lost connection? This lesson gives you short phrases to check those things without interrupting the whole meeting. It also covers joining the discussion, asking for a repeated point and ending with a clear statement of what happens next.
Check the connection with a specific question
Вы меня́ слы́шите? checks whether others can hear you. Вам меня́ ви́дно? checks the video. Keep the two separate so people know which problem to address. If you hear an echo, say Слы́шно э́хо rather than repeating a general complaint about the connection. When practising, give a partner one imaginary fault at a time. They must identify it and propose a simple next step, such as turning off a microphone or reconnecting.
Introduce a screen share before explaining it
Сейча́с покажу́ экра́н tells the group you are about to share. Ask Ви́дно мой экра́н? before discussing a document nobody may be seeing. If several windows are open, name the file or page you intend to show. A useful rehearsal is to describe a small table on your own screen and check that your partner has the same view. This trains the transition between technical coordination and the actual subject of the meeting.
Take a turn without losing the topic
Мо́жно вопро́с? is a short way to ask for a turn. To clarify a previous statement, use Пра́вильно ли я понима́ю…? and repeat its key point in your own words. That is different from requesting a word-for-word repetition. If audio cuts out, say which part you missed: Я не расслы́шал по́следнюю часть or the corresponding feminine form расслы́шала. A precise request saves everyone from restarting an explanation you mostly understood.
Close with an owner and a deadline
At the end, confirm the action rather than only saying goodbye. Я пришлю́ фа́йл за́втра means you will send the file tomorrow. If the plan belongs to someone else, ask Кто э́то сде́лает? and К како́му сро́ку? Keep a note of the answer. Practise a two-minute meeting with one technical problem, one question and one agreed action. You will then have language for a complete call, including the part that determines whether anything happens afterwards.
