In a classroom, a useful question can be more valuable than pretending you understood the instruction. You may need the room number, the reading for next week or the deadline for a group task. This lesson gives you language to check those details and participate with classmates. Practise it around a real or imagined course so that words such as lecture, assignment and submission point to clear actions rather than an abstract list of education terms.
Find the class and its format
Аудито́рия is a classroom or lecture room in a university context. Ле́кция is a lecture, while семина́р usually involves a different teaching format. Ask Где прохо́дит заня́тие? when you need the location. If a room has changed, confirm the building as well as the number. Practise a short exchange using a timetable with two courses and similar times. Your task is to identify the correct class, not merely to recognise a familiar number.
Clarify the task before beginning it
Что ну́жно сде́лать? asks what needs to be done. Then check the format, length and deadline separately if they matter. Пи́сьменно и́ли у́стно? distinguishes a written task from an oral one. A teacher may explain several steps at once, so repeat the part you understood before asking about the missing detail. This is more precise than saying you understood nothing. Rehearse receiving an assignment and summarising it in two short sentences for another student.
Ask for help without asking someone to do the work
Мо́жешь объясни́ть зада́ние? asks a classmate to explain the assignment. It is different from asking them to give you the completed answer. Propose a specific study activity, such as comparing notes or discussing the first question. If you work in a group, agree on who prepares which part and when to share it. The language of responsibilities is useful here too: Я подгото́влю приме́ры states the part you will contribute.
Prepare a question about feedback
After a task is returned, ask about one comment you do not understand. Что зна́чит э́то замеча́ние? points to the feedback rather than challenging the entire result. You can then ask what to improve next time. For practice, invent a short assignment and a single unclear instruction, then resolve it with a partner. Build your cards from the questions you needed during the exchange. That makes the set a tool for participation rather than a glossary you never use.
